Sign Up for the Challenge

Please be sure to read the Rules post before signing up. After reading the rules, please sign Mr. Linky. If you have a specific post on your blog to keep track of your progress in this challenge, please leave the link to that entry, not your main URL. Thank you!

Also, if you'd like to be added as a contributor to this blog so you can post your book list and reviews here, please send me an e-mail at ruth [at] bookishruth [dot] com for posting access.

Updated June 6, 2009: There have been some issues with Mr. Linky lately. If you're a new participant looking to sign up and there's no form visible on this post (I've upgraded to a gold membership so you should see a form and list of participants) please leave a link to your challenge entry in the comments and let me know that Mr. Linky is not working. Thanks!

Ruth - Thank you for hosting. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is a new author for me and I have always wanted to read him. I am signing up for the Seven Percent Solution.

I am so very excited about this. I've always planned on reading/rereading the canon books, but could never seem to motivate myself to do so. This challenge is fantastic for me, so thank you so much for hosting it!

(And I've even got some pastiches that I can read, too!)

If you like radio dramas, there is from to time some very good Sherlock Holmes dramas on BBC Radio 7. You can listen to them over the Internet. If I recall the address correctly, it is: http://www.bbc.co.uk. I will try to inform this challenge group when there is a series. You can listen to an episode within a week from airdate in the Listen Again section. I am going for the 7% Solution level.

I'll be doing the Three Pipe Problem -- planning to read Hound of the Baskervilles, Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Beekeeper's Apprentice. Should be fun!

I'm doing the Seven Percent Solution. I'll be re-reading Ms. King as well as reading the originals.

Here's the question: will books that are directly influenced by Holmes (such as Holmes on the Range by Steve Hockensmith) be included? I'd hate for Big Red & Old Red be left out. In fact, I'm sure they'd be crushed.
